ReCreation Adventure Ministries is a non-profit Christian ministry established to reach and disciple people for Jesus Christ through guided outdoor adventures. Efforts are made to provide adventure opportunities to youth and adults from economically disadvantaged families. Scholarships are accepted to assist these participants to be able to experience the wilderness. Bible study takes place each morning and at night the day’s activities are debriefed, relating struggles/victories with the adventure of the Christ Life. Each participant is prayed for by the Board of Directors that God would accomplish what He wants in their lives. ReCreation Adventure Ministries is governed by a board of directors as a 501(c)(3) Christian ministry.

Statement of Faith

We believe no one can come to God the Father except through the saving and believing faith in Jesus Christ. There is no good work that can restore the relationship that was broken between man and God through the first act of rebellion and is inherited into all the sons of Adam. The wages of that act of rebellion and all the ones committed after are death. Only the perfect and finished work of Christ, who was born of a virgin as the Son of God and completely without sin, dying on a cross and paying the debt we owed, could save us from these wages. Jesus defeated the wages of our sins by dying on the cross and rising again three days later. Through His death and resurrection, our relationship with Jesus is restored and justified.

God desires that we may all come to know and love Him, so he offers salvation. Upon confessing with our mouths and believing in our hearts that Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives, we receive the Holy Spirit as a seal of adoption as sons of God. The Holy Spirit works in our hearts convicting us of the ways we are not like God and helps us walk in obedience to what the Word of God tells us.  The Holy Spirit continually counsels us and sanctifies us to be set apart and to look more like Christ.

What we see in part of Christ we will one day see in full is the promise and hope of the Christians as we await our glorification in heaven.  We will get to spend eternity with our Father, worshipping Him and enjoy complete and full communion with Him.

Meet our Ministry Director/Guide: Bill Banks

Bill Banks put his faith in Christ under the influence of his father. Bill says,” My earthly father was a direct reflection of our Heavenly Father.” Bill first had an appreciation for the outdoors traveling through the Rocky Mountains during summer family vacations to the Northwest.  God called Bill to Student and Recreation Ministry in his early twenties. Outdoor adventures were always incorporated in his ministry everywhere God led him.  Bill has spent the last 35 years working with youth and university students in local church ministry and university campus ministry sharing the wilderness experience and teaching them how to apply their outdoor experience to their walk with Christ. Bill and his wife Brenda, have two grown children and four grandchildren. He is a graduate of West Texas A&M University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also a certified Wilderness First Responder.
