ReCreation Adventure Ministries (RAM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization and operates the website, www.recadventureministries.com.  RAM treats the handling of personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy details how RAM will treat your personal data after it has been collected by RAM, either through its website or otherwise, together with details on the type of information we may collect from you. RAM will only use your data as detailed in this Privacy Policy or for its legitimate business reasons.

 
 

RAM's approach to Privacy

The website that is linked to this privacy policy is operated by RAM (“we” or “us”). We appreciate your interest in our website (our ‘site’). Your privacy protection is very important to us and we are committed to protecting you and respecting your privacy.  This privacy notice sets out information about how we collect, store, process, transfer, share and use data that identifies or is associated with you (hereinafter “personal information”). It also describes your data protection rights, including a right to object to some of the processing which we carry out. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

The State of California has established its own unique regulations that apply to California residents.  If you reside in California, you have the right to obtain from us, once per year and free of charge, information regarding what information we disclose to third party marketers, and the names and addresses of each third party to whom we disclose your data.  If you are a California resident and would like to make such a request, please use the contact information listed below.

If you are a California resident and under the age of 18, you  have the right to request that we remove any data that you publicly post on our website. To request removal of your data, please use the contact information listed below. Note that while we will remove your data that is publicly posted on our website, we may not be able to completely remove that data from our systems.

Newsletter Privacy

We offer the opportunity for you to volunteer certain information to us that is used for email and marketing purposes. This information includes, but is not limited to, your name and email. You will have an opportunity to unsubscribe from any future communications via email, but we reserve the right to maintain a database of past email subscribers. We reserve the right to use this information as reasonably necessary in our business and as provided by law. Your information will be shared with reasonably necessary parties for the ordinary course of conducting our business, such as through Facebook ads or Google Pay Per Click marketing campaigns. We do not ever sell your information to third parties.

We collect personal information about you when you voluntarily submit information directly to us or our site or interact with us on social media. This can include information you provide to us when you complete registration forms for an expedition, pay for an expedition, donate to this ministry or some other feature of our website. We also collect personal information from you indirectly such as information about the pages you look at on our site or the device you use to view our site.

Contact Details: 

We collect contact information such as your name, your email address, your telephone number and physical addresses associated with your registration, newsletter sign-up, or donation.

Registration Information:

When you complete the registration form, health form and acknowledgement of liability, we may need to collect additional information required to process your registration including any disability you may have, dietary requirements, medications you take or additional personal information you may share (physical fitness, ability to swim, etc.).

Comments and opinions:  

When you contact us directly, e.g. by email, phone, post or by completing an online form, we will record your comments and opinions including our return response back to you, if needed. We will also record comments and opinions you express when responding to surveys or taking part in any special promotions we may run.

Payment and transaction information:

We keep records of the tuition payments or donations you make to RAM and the payment method you use for the transaction. We will use payment and donation information to process the payment for any expedition you register for or donation you make to this ministry.  Although we keep records of any transactions you make through the site, we do not store any financial details such as your credit card number as we use a third-party payment provider to process any payments you make through the site. Financial data is transferred to our payment processor, Stripe, and you should review their privacy policy to determine how they use, disclose and protect your financial data. Information about how you use and connect to our site:

We collect information about how you use our site such as the pages you view on our site, the time you access our site and how long you use it for, the website from where you came to our site or go to after leaving our site and any selections and choices you make when using our site.

We also collect information about the computer, tablet, smartphone or other electronic device you use to connect to our site. This information can include details about the type of device, unique device identifying numbers, operating systems, browsers, and applications connected to our site through the device, your Internet service provider or mobile network, your IP address and your device’s telephone number (if it has one).

Typically, the information we collect about how you use or connect to our site is associated with your device and not you as a named individual. However, if you actually submit a registration form, sign up for the newsletter or use the Contact Form, this information may also be associated with you directly.

Social Networking Data:

We may access personal information from social networking sites and apps, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat or other social networking sites or apps not made specifically here, which may include your name, your social network username, location, email address, age, gender, profile picture and other public information. If you use our website via a mobile device or app, we may collect information about your mobile device, including device ID, model and manufacturer, and location information.

Information about your location:

Other than information you choose to provide to us, we do not collect information about your precise location. Your device’s IP address may help us determine an approximate location. We will not collect or track your exact location without your consent. Where necessary we will seek your consent before using information about your exact location.

Information provided by other users:  

Sometimes, other visitors to our site provide information that is associated with you. Where users of our site want to invite you to view our site, or to share information with you about an upcoming expedition we will use personal information that they provide about you to assist them in doing this. We will only do this though where they indicate that you have provided your consent for them to communicate with you this way.

All personal information:

We will use all the personal information we collect to monitor and improve our site and our procedures and processes.  Our use of your personal information in this way will not result in information that was not previously publicly available being made public on our site.

At various places on our site you may be requested to enter certain personal information. Personal information that must be provided in order to register for an expedition or sign up for the newsletter will be indicated at the time of collection.  Other personal information that you are not required to provide in order to register for an expedition or sign up for the newsletter may be voluntarily given and you are free to decide not to give such personal information.

To register for an expedition or sign up for a newsletter.

This is relevant when you register for an expedition with us, or sign up for the newsletter. This includes:

  • Verifying your identity
  • Processing your tuition payments and registration forms
  • Communicating with you about the services we provide and about queries, issues or concerns you or other users have
  • Providing participate customer service and support
  • Using personal information about you that is contained in private messages sent to us by other users to fulfil and deliver expedition receipts and to respond to any query, issue or concern they raise

As required to conduct our ministry and pursue our legitimate interest.

In particular, we will:

  • Send you electronic newsletters or other communications in accordance with your marketing preference
  • Use your comments and opinions to address your queries, issues or concerns and improve our ministry
  • Use your transaction information and history to determine other upcoming expeditions that may be of interest to you and send your marketing in accordance with your marketing references.

  • Advertisers:  We may use third party advertising companies to run and manage our ads, such as Facebook or Instagram to produce ads that appears when you visit our Website or mobile app. These companies may use information about your visit to our website and other websites that are contained in web cookies (as described below) to offer you personalized advertisements about goods and services that might interest you. We cannot control the activities of, such other advertisers or web sites.  You should consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party advertisers for more detailed information on their practices as well as for instructions about how to opt-out of certain practices.
  • Other Third Parties: We may provide third parties with aggregate statistical information and analytics about users of our site, but we will make sure no one can be identified from this information before we disclose it.   • Sale or Bankruptcy: In the event that RAM is sold, goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, your information may be an asset that is transferred to a third party successor.  Such a successor is not bound by our Privacy Policy and may have its own. You will be notified in the event RAM is sold, goes out of business or enters bankruptcy.

Marketing and Advertising

Our ministry is about providing you with the best outdoor and spiritual experience.  Most marketing messages we send will be by email but occasionally we may also contact you by post or phone. If you are using our website, we may also send you push notifications if you accept to receive them. If you do not want to receive, or wish to reduce marketing messages from us, you will be able to tell us by changing your marketing preferences when you sign up for the newsletter or expedition. You can also change your marketing preferences at any time by following the instructions outlined below:

Storing and transferring your personal information

We take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data and keep your information secure.  We use recognized online secure payment systems and implement generally accepted standards of security to protect against personal data loss or misuse.  However, no security measure is foolproof, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against interception or misuse. We cannot guarantee complete security of any information you transmit to us. By consent to this Privacy Policy, you acknowledge that your personal data may be available, via the internet, around the world. We cannot prevent the use or misuse of your data by other parties. We will notify you of promptly any known breach of our security systems or your data which might expose you to serious risk.

INTERNATIONAL DATA

Our website is hosted by servers located in the U.S.  Therefore, if you reside in the European Union, some of your data will be transferred internationally to those servers.  Transfers will be protected by appropriate safeguards, namely the EU-US Privacy Shield. CHILDREN

This website or mobile app is not designed for use by children under age 16, and we do not knowingly solicit personal data from anyone under age 16.  If you are under age 16, do not access or use our website or related products or services. How long we keep your personal information

Where we process registration data, we do this for as long as you are an active user of our site and for a period of time after this.

When we process personal data for marketing purposes or with your consent, we process the data until you ask us to stop and for a short period after this (to allow us to implement your requests).  We also keep record of the fact that you have asked us not to send you direct marketing or to process your data so that we can respect your request in the future. This record will be kept for as long as we retain your personal data in accordance with this section.

Where we process personal data in connection with an expedition registration, we keep the data for 6 years from your last interaction with us. This includes any correspondence that you have had with us or our board, so that we may resolve any complaints or claims that are made.

You have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  2. The right to access and receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
